		<description>I remember that T-shirt!!!  I still have a baby jar filled with ash.  I can&#039;t remember if I thought that would be worth something someday or what, but I sure find a crap-load of it when I&#039;m gardening to this day.  Your memory continues to amaze me.</description>

		<description>I, too, was near the volcano on that day. I was a junior at McMinnville High School and a member of the vocal jazz ensemble. We were traveling to Powell River, B.C. and had left school at about 5 a.m. We crossed the Tuttle River Bridge just as the volcano erupted! our charter bus driver drove off the freeway and up a huge hill. We sat on the hillside watching the eruption for more than 1 hour. I took photos that would knock your socks off...but, I haven&#039;t been able to find them for the past 3 years! (pre-digital camera era).&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Now, I celebrate Mt. St. Helens Day because my son, who is now 15, was born on May 18. It&#039;s my favorite day of the year!</description>
